Many people are hurting because of an act of violence committed against them.  Anyone – men, women, and children may be affected by violence.  Our children are subjected to neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Research shows as many as 1 in 4 girls will be victims of sexual abuse by the time they are 18-years-old. For boys, the number is 1 in 6. Often the abuse is a “family secret” passed from one generation to another.

There is hope and restoration at the Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children began in 1976 as the Waco Rape Crisis Center. It has grown into an umbrella agency with three programs, the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), The Victims Center, and Prevention and Education – offering many services to the hurting in our community. CASA of Hill County Texas is committed to speaking for the best interest of abused and neglected children. CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who advocate to ensure that each and every child is permitted to grow up in a safe, nurturing and permanent home.  Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children (ACCVC) is committed to serving all members of our community.  Our mission is universal and based in compassion and respect for our entire community without regard to anyone's status as a member of a protected class. However, our mission also requires us to stay ever vigilant against those in our community that would intentionally do harm to others, and to remain cognizant of the sensitive nature and special needs of the individuals and families that we serve.  The nature of our services are such that the ACCVC has an obligation to ensure every safeguard is utilized and that the safety of our clients remains our top priority. For that reason, ACCVC reserves the right to deny admission to ACCVC events and/or reject financial or volunteer contributions from any individual or group that ACCVC, in its sole judgment, determines to pose a threat of any kind to an individual client or the mission of the ACCVC as a whole.
